Mr. Jeff Russell has 19 years of experience in public education. He spent six years teaching and coaching in Irving and Mansfield ISD. He accepted his first Assistant Principal position in Canton ISD in 2008, where he served at the junior high and high school levels until 2013. In addition, he served as the Director of Human Resources and Federal Programs for Canton ISD. Upon arriving at Wills Point ISD in 2015, he became the Assistant Principal at Wills Point Middle School, moved into the principal role in 2016, and served as Principal for Wills Point High School from 2017-2019. Mr. Russell has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Students Services for Wills Point ISD from 2019-2023. He has overseen multiple capital improvement projects and was heavily involved in long-range and bond planning. Additionally, Mr. Russell has been responsible for implementing new strategies and coordinating school safety initiatives for Wills Point ISD.

Mr. Russell is a 1997 graduate of Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University in 2002, master’s degree from Texas A&M University at Commerce in 2008, and Superintendent Certification from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2019. Currently, he is working toward his doctorate in Educational Leadership through Tarleton State University.

Mr. Russell shared, “I am extremely humbled, honored, and excited to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community of S&S CISD as Superintendent. S&S already has so many great achievements to celebrate, and I look forward to working with the school board, principals, teachers, staff, parents, and students to build upon the excellence that has been established in this great district. Mr. Russell and his wife, Angela, who currently serves as the choir director for Canton High School, have two daughters, Avery, 18, and Addyson, 14. Avery will attend Dallas Baptist University in the Fall with plans of becoming an elementary teacher, and Addy will be a Freshman at S&S High School.
